About Dannemiller Tyson Associates

Over the past two decades, Dannemiller Tyson Associates (DTA) has developed an approach to organizational change that has helped literally thousands of organizations around the world.  Among the keys to our success is our focus on supporting client achievement of bottom line long-lasting results.

Although each situation is different, the basic direction of the work is always to help organizations uncover and engage the knowledge, wisdom and heart of their people to meet the business challenges of a changing world. Our methodology, called Whole-Scale® Change, is used in a variety of applications including strategic planning, work design, organizagtion design, merger/acquisition integration, process re-engineering and culture change.

Dannemiller Tyson Associates was founded in the early 1980’s by Kathleen D. Dannemiller and the late Charles Tyson to help organizations achieve fast, long-lasting change. The earliest work was with the Ford Motor Company as it sought to move its culture from “command and control” to a more participative style. In the late 1980’s DTA expanded its work to other companies and organizations. Over the years, DTA has worked with literally hundreds of clients in the profit, non-profit and governmental sectors around the world. DTA consultants are all seasoned senior practitioners skilled in helping organizations chart and travel their own change journeys.

Our core competencies include engaging large and small microcosms of the organization as the key elements of the change process. We work with groups as small as ten and as large as 1,000. These interactions of large and small groups allow a “critical mass” of the organization (or a sub-system within the organization) to build a common database and form a common intention for action. Whole-Scale® processes are robust: they work in many different circumstances with people from all parts of the organization.

The Whole-Scale® approach is a flexible methodology that can be used at different levels and at different stages of the change process. We stress that Whole-Scale® is a journey and each step can create “critical moments” in the process but only in the context of a sound change strategy that includes clear strategic goals, strong leadership alignment, adequate training and concerted implementation follow-through.
